15 Years of The Long Walk
How We Got Started
In 2011 we helped raise €20,000 for local charity alongside the businesses, visitors and residents of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria & Maspalomas, the very next year we innocently planned a walk to the top of the island... we've been walking ever since.
Our Founders
Sanna & Edward have worked for many years in the 3rd sector, media community gardening, fundraising, events and putting good intentions into real world action. They #LoveGranCanaria
Our First Walk
We left the resort town of Puerto Rico at midnight on Sept 28 2012, there were 9 of us in total, after a fundraiser at The Pub we walked through the night to Soria and on to Roque Nublo, in 18 hours 2 of us had reached the summits. We fell in love.
150,000€ donated to good causes
Over the last 15 years our walkers have helped raise funds and awareness for registered NGOs and Gran Canaria grass roots community organisations to help Cancer Patients, reforestation, food bank distributions, and finding pathways out of poverty.
